The city administration keeps increasing subsidy for the citizens through cross-subsidy system.

"Our subsidy is increasing every year. Such as to ride bus next year, we will allocate Rp 3.2 trillion for PSO," disclosed Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama, Tuesday (7/19).

According to him, subsidy in transportation field is deemed very important. That means residents only spend Rp 3,500 to ride the bus. Even, at this time, Transjakarta has reached Bekasi, Tangerang and Depok.

While for education field, he allocates Rp 2 billion through Jakarta Smart Card (KJP). As planned, next year, the KJP receipt will hit college level.

"We want to subsidize meat thus children as KJP holder could get good nutrition. It could also be hundreds of billions," he stated.

Basuki admitted has applied cross-subsidy. City Budget (APBD) is mostly used to allocate subsidy to Jakartans. As for the infrastructure development, is taken from the developer obligation.

"We'll also apply cross-subsidy, which is why we do not want to spend infrastructure with APBD. It is part of the developer," he uttered.

Some infrastructure development that charged to the developer are such implementation of electronic road pricing (ERP), Light Rail Transit (LRT), as well as construction of apartment or flat.
