Primata Tarsius Tumpara Becomes TAFISA Mascot

Jakarta Tourism Agency Deputy Head, Sylviana Murni disclosed, Tarsius Tumpara was chosen as the maskot for 2016 TAFISA, because it is a kind of rare primates native to Indonesia that need to be known to the public.

"This animal is really rare. Even, in its habitat on Siau Island, North Sulawesi, there are only 1,300. That needs to be cultivated," he said, at Ragunan Zoo (TMR), Friday (7/29).

She continued the event is able to educate people about the importance of the preservation of endangered animals in order to survive in their habitat.

"By so, we hope people can be more patient, more loving tarsius," he stated.
