As many as 5,749 tax object notification letters (SPPT) of building and land tax (PBB) in Matraman Sub-district, East Jakarta cannot be issued. It is because of the arrears over a period of 3-15 years in a row.

Head of Matraman Sub-district Regional Tax Service Unit, Maria Yuli Istiningsih disclosed the number of taxpayers in arrears SPPT caused by many things. Among them are, since its object is inherited land and ignorance taxpayers in paying the tax, as well as unable to pay.

"Our data is 5,749 SPPT PBBs that cannot be issued due to arrears over 3-15 months. We also make circular letter and appeal seven times in three months," she stated, Wednesday (8/10).

The circular letter and appeal is done by cooperating with urban village and sub-district apparatus. As a result, around 7,000 SPPT PBBs that not yet paid off are directly doing payment. From that number, disbursement rate of arrears is reaching Rp 2,512,944,171.

She mentions total number of taxpayers in East Jakarta is 27,903 SPPT PBBs. From that number, there are 17,850 SPPTs with a value of zero rupiah which exempted from NJOP under Rp 1 billion and 4,304 SPPTs which did not get the exemption, such as empty lands, houses, shops and offices.

Additionally, those which cannot be issued because of the arrears over 3-15 years in a row is 5,749 SPPTs.
