Basuki Approves Transportation Dept's Proposal About Park & Ride

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama approved a proposal of Jakarta Transportation Dept that containing park and ride will be built on the water channel.

I agree, it can minimize misuse of place and I will create the design

"I agree, it can minimize misuse of place and I will create the design," he said, at City Hall, Thursday (8/11). 

Nevertheless, he wants park and ride can accommodate heavy equipment. Thus dredging towards river can run smoothly.

Park and Ride Proposed to Be Built Under Klender Flyover

"It should be designed to accommodate heavy equipment thus any projects can run properly," he expressed.  

He also allows the facility to be built under flyover, as long as it can still pay attention to the traffic conditions.

He went on the say that this way is one of solutions to parse congestion. Considering, parking needs in middle of the city wil increase in future.

"It will happen after we activate ERP. A lot of people will park," he stated. 

As known, Transportation Dept had a pla  to build park and ride on the channel in three locations. They are in Kebon Kacang Grand Indonesia, Cideng River and Item River. 

It is aimed to anticipate additional forbidden area for motorbike.
