As many as 50 semi permanent buildings above connecting channel Jalan H Mawar, RW 07, Sunter Jaya, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta are demolished.
Cleanliness personnel were unable to clean the channel because of manholes and buildings stood above it
The demolition is aimed to refunction the 800 meter channel as the flood handling program.
Sunter Jaya Urban Village Head, Een Hermawan, said the channel was previously closed by the manholes. As the result, the channel was untouched by the cleanliness personnel.

During the demolition, his side deployed one heavy equipment.
Mahaji (43), one of local residents, admitted supporting the effort much. During the rainy season, the area is always flooded by 50 cm.
“For the sake of our comfort, we support the program,” he stated.
