Anticipating the river overflow during rain season or collapsed wall, riverbank must be free from settlement.

I have no idea why they can get certificate for constructing building at riverbank

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama said settlement should not has direct border with river or reservoir. It is also aimed to smooth the water flow, especially high intensity water flow.

“I have no idea why they can get certificate for constructing building at riverbank,” he said, Sunday (8/28).

As the temporary handling, collapsed settlement wall will be closed to prevent leaking. Heavy equipments have arrived at the scene.

“Heavy equipments have arrived. But it can not dig to deep or the house will collapse also,” he added.

According to him, riverbank must be free from settlement. He plans to free the riverbank area especially in South Jakarta.
