Three buildings stood atop Baru Riverbank, RT 01/09 Cijantung, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta, demolished on Monday (8/29). It is carried out because the place is prone to landslide.

Pasar Rebo Sub-district, Wahyu Supriyatna disclosed that three buildings' location is very protrudes into the cliff. If it is ignored, the land will be eroded and cause casualties.

"We've reminded locals to demolish the buildings. But it was ignored by the owner. So we do demolishment by ourselves," he told, when he led demolishment.

According to him, those buildings have existed more than four years. There is no compensation or relocation plan.

The demolishment involved 25 personnel of urban village, sub-district, Satpol PP, FKDM, public figures and army/police. There was no protest from the owner.

Bari (50), one of the owners admitted he resigned when the personnel tried to demolish his home. "I plan to look for a rented house around here," he closed.
