A trailer truck B 9307 PH crashed onto road separator and TransJakarta bus stop pole in Ujung Menteng, Cakung, East Jakarta, Wednesday (5/14). The truck driver named Eko (34) suffers serious injuries on the head after being hit and wedged in the truck’s cabin. He has been rushed to the nearest hospital.

The incident happened at around 4 AM. But until 10.15 AM, the evacuation process was still conducted. Based on the information gathered from the field, the truck that carried six new cars was heading to Pondok Ungu, Bekasi, West Java. But when it got to in front of Ujung Menteng motor vehicle testing center (PKB) office, the truck suddenly crashed onto road separator and bus stop pole until its front cabin severely damaged and right front wheel broke.
Juned (23), the truck’s conductor, said the accident happened because the truck driver tried to avoid collision with a biker that ran zig-zag. When the biker finally overtaking the truck, the biker was almost got hit by the truck. As a result, the truck driver swerved to the right and hit the road separator and bus stop pole.

Because of this accident, the traffic congested up to three kilometers long on Jakarta-Bekasi lane and vice versa. The truck cannot be evacuated yet due to its engine is stuck on the road median. This case is handled by East Jakarta Traffic Accident Unit.
