Street Sweepers Still Dispose Trash into Channel

Jakarta Governor Basuki T. Purnama admitted saw many street sweepers still disposed trash into the water channel. This habit should be avoided since it will disturb the water flow.

This is a kind of lazy street sweeper. They did not clean the water conduit holes

“This is a kind of lazy street sweeper. They did not clean the water conduit holes,” he said, Monday (9/19).

The pattern is already predictable. If rain pours after two or three weeks of clear day, inundation will occur. It is because the water conduit is closed by the trash.

Higher Channel, Jl Pegangsaan II Inundated

“Mostly the conduit is closed with trash or soil. It surely triggers inundation,” he added.

Basuki requests regional heads (urban village and sub-district) to monitor their areas. Basuki wants Jakarta is free from inundation.
