Dozens of houses that located at Jl Muara Baru Raya, Penjaringan Urban Village, North Jakarta were caught fire on Monday (9/19), at around 9.30 AM.

"These houses are in a densely populated area. Fire handling is pretty hard, because many locals scared and tried to save their belongings," expressed Satriadi Gunawan, Head of North Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept, Monday (9/19).

Even, the Harapan Salahudin Education Boarding School at the same location was also burned, precisely on the second floor of the building.

Relaying on Beritajakarta.com's data, at least eight rooms in the upstairs are burned, such as office room, laboratory and computer room.

"Fire comes out from 14 houses and then hit other buildings. Students immediately tried to save their life. Cooling down is conducted at around 11 AM. There are 17 fire trucks dispatched to the scene," he expressed.

In the incident, one fireman and one student had light bruises. While another fireman is impacted coupling hose pump on the chest and had to be rushed to Atma Jaya Hospital.

"The loss is more than Rp 2 billion. The cause is still under investigation," he finished.
