City Police Traffic Directory (Ditlantas) started Simpatik Jaya 2014 operation today, Monday (5/19) up to 21 days ahead. The operation is aimed to create traffic security, safety, order and smoothness. About 2,200 city police officers are deployed during the operation.

The operation targets are all 2 wheeled and 4 wheeled vehicles. Other targets are controlling sidewalk, roadside parking, motorcycle lane, Transjakarta bus lane, public transports route, bus terminal, and public transport drivers.

City Police Traffic Director, Comm. Restu Mulya Budiyanto, asked his staff to be more humanist during the raid. "Give them warning and appeal first. Repressive pattern to be given if the violation tends to endanger other road users," he explained, Monday (5/19).

The raids are conducted to some spots in Jakarta and surrounding, especially area prone to traffic violation.

Meanwhile, City Police Vice Head, Police Brigadier General Sudjarno, explained about 65 people passed away everyday because of traffic accident. So that, traffic safety pioneer motto will be echoed.
