Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama has suppressed the value of the 2017 Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP). The value that has been approved through Government Regulation (PP) No. 78/2015 on wage, which is Rp 3,350,750.

Previously, City Wage Board had recommended the UMP value to Basuki on Wednesday (10/26). The proposal was in accordance with trial results that conducted several times.

There were at least two values proposed, namely from worker Rp 3,831,690 and government and entrepreneur Rp 3,350,750.

"I've signed it. We follow the government regulation with value of more than Rp 3.3 million," he stated, at City Hall, Thursday (10/27).

He assured will remain obey the existing rules to set the next year's UMP. Moreover, the proposal towards Manpower and Transmigration Ministry aims to reject using the basic of living cost (KHL).

"We've sent a letter, but it was rejected. If they want to demo, they can't. They must obey the rules," he asserted.

The next year's UMP value was signed one day before he took leave as Jakarta Governor. He has been on leave today, Friday (10/28) until February 11, 2017.
