December, Water Reservoir in Kapuk Muara Normalized

North Jakarta Water Management Sub-dept continues to try deepening and cleaning a water reservoir that located at RW 03 Kapuk Muara Urban Village, Penjaringan, North Jakarta. It is targeted will be complete in the upcoming December.

Currently, there has been three quarter of the water reservoir wide that has been deepened and cleaned from water hyacinth. So it's just remaining quarter

"Currently, there has been three quarter of the water reservoir wide that has been deepened and cleaned from water hyacinth. So it's just remaining quarter," expressed Sarkam, Section Head of Penjaringan Sub-district Water Management for North Jakarta Water Management Sub-dept, Wednesday (11/2).

According to him, the pond as wide as two hectares was a pond and works to accommodate the water flow of Jl Kapuk Raya and flows into the Vika Mas connecting channel in RW 05. But now it is strewn with water hyacinths and experiencing silting.

"It's predicted to be complete in the upcoming December. Thus it can be used to accommodate water and anticipate Kapuk Raya from flooding. Moreover, if a sheet pile at Jl Vika Mas I is finished, water will flow smoothly toward PIK II," he finished.
