Jakarta Head Deputy of Bank Indonesia Representative, Fadjar Majardi, said total transaction of next year’s election is predicted to reach Rp 1.1 trillion. In fact, the economic activity in Jakarta reaches Rp 6 trillion per day.
“Our expectation the impact will grow up. But it can not go up further since the transaction value remains low,” he said during BI Media Gathering in Pantara Island, Seribu Island, Monday (11/14).

Low election transaction is also caused by new regulation. Election participants must not provide the campaign attributes fully. Some of the attributes are provided by General Election Commission (KPU).
Next, the campaign is mostly run through social media. “It’s also the impact of technology. Social media also cuts the cost,” he added.
Moreover, regional election for Jakarta is different with other regions. Jakartans only vote for Governor and Vice Governor, while the mayor and regent will be directly appointed by the governor.
