Around 232 churches in the capital will be the focus of the police security during the celebration of Christmas and New Year. The churches have priority security because it is considered to have a high level of vulnerability.

Vice Director of Polda Metro Jaya Intelkam, AKBP Dwi Indra disclosed his side has mapped the vulnerability level of churches in each area.

"In Jakarta, there are 232 churches that focused on our security. In overall, there are 316 churches monitored," he stated, during a Forkopimda meeting, at City Hall, Tuesday (12/20).

He mentions, those 232 churches are consisting of 31 churches (Central Jakarta), 38 churches (North Jakarta), 61 churches (West Jakarta), 47 churches (South Jakarta) and 55 churches (East Jakarta).

"It's conducted to anticipate unwanted things such as terror threats," he told.

He added that the number of all churches is reaching 1,610 churches. "We also anticipate danger that threats the religious life," he finished.
