3 Vital Objects in North Jakarta Tightly Guarded

Towards the Presidential Election on upcoming July 9, a number of public places and vital objects in North Jakarta are guarded by the military and police security forces. The security is increased to anticipate public disorders.

The three vital objects are Plumpang Pertamina Depot on Jalan Yos Sudarso, Koja Pertamina Depot on Jalan Jampea, and Muara Karang Steam-Fueled Power Plant (PLTU) on Jalan Pluit Timur Raya. Each of them will be guarded by three joint force companies of the military and police.

We will not let these three vital objects be disturbed, because they are related to the lives of many people,” stated North Jakarta Metro Resor Police Deputy Chief AKBP Jayadi, Tuesday (5/27).

Super tight security is also carried out in several shopping centers and traditional markets. These centers of crowds are guarded by security forces by checking every visitor’s bags.

“That’s why we continue to do security training to anticipate possible riots. Like today, we hold a simulation in handling demonstration,” he told.

In the simulation done in front of Plumpang Pertamina Depot, as many as 350 policemen are involved. They demonstrate the handling of chaotic demonstration as training in anticipating possibility of chaos.

“Hopefully the upcoming presidential election would run well. However, our personnel must be prepared to anticipate any potential security problem that might occur,” uttered Jayadi.
