MRT Project Cuts Jalan Sudirman Sidewalk"The guide wall construction on the west side is for the shaft area, which is one of the early stages for launching shaft or an access for drilling machine that will be used to build MRT's subway lanes. As planned, drilling machine will arrive in Jakarta by the end of 2015," he stated, Thursday (5/29).
He disclosed that such project has been ongoing since May 27. To smoothen it, the Bundaran HI Transjakarta bus stop had to be closed down, considering the project requires a fairly wide area.
"Guide wall project has been started since two days ago and is ensured to be finished in one month," he expressed. The construction will also have an impact on the traffic flow thus there would be changes to north lanes north becomes three normal lanes.
As for the Transjakarta bus lanes on the east side, the construction area can still be bypassed by regular vehicles or mix traffic. But there is no change to south lanes, namely five normal lanes and one Transjakarta bus lane.
Nasyir revealed the project preparation will be carried out in May 2014. It is expected to be finished in late May, thus this large-scale project can be realized at the beginning of June.
Besides soil pond and guide wall, another project is pit test, traffic diversion, Transjakarta bus stop relocation, and traffic engineering, where they are still in construction process, including closure of one vehicle lane.
