1,200 Ducting Boxes will Be Made on Sidewalk

As much as 1,200 ducting boxes will be built in some sidewalks that spread in five cities this year. The installation will spend Rp 39 billion.

Section Head of Sidewalk Development for Jakarta Bina Marga Dept., Ricky Janus disclosed ducting box construction is focused on the revitalized sidewalks. It will have 2.5 meters deep and measuring 2.3x1.8 square meters.

"Each of them will be made at a distance of between 20-25 meters," he stated, Saturday (1/21).

In details, those ducting boxes will be built in five cities, as follows;

1. South Jakarta, around 1,200 ducting boxes will be built on Jalan Bulungan, Mahakam, Barito and Iskandarsyah

2. Central Jakarta, Jalan Taman Jati Baru, Lapangan Banteng, Perwira and Katedral Church area

3. East Jakarta, Jalan Pemuda, starting from intersection of Arion-intersection of Tugas Pulogadung, Jalan Matraman Raya, Jatinegara Timur and Bekasi Timur

4. North Jakarta, Jalan Tongkol

5. West Jakarta, Jalan Kyai Tapa Grogol

According to Ricky, last year, 729 ducting boxes were built in the capital.

"Utility contractor will just do drilling from inside the box without damaging the sidewalk," he finished.
