Transjakarta Night Service Launched on June 1

The effort to give mass transportation service in the city keeps conducted by Jakarta Provincial Government. Started on June 1, Transjakarta bus specialized transportation service will conduct trial of night transportation service (amari) and will operate from 11 PM to 5 PM . Therefore, some Transjakarta buses will be operated for 24 hours to serve Jakarta citizens.
Those three corridors are chosen because it considered as corridor with the most passengers
Head of Transjakarta Management Unit, Pargaulan Butar-Butar, said there are 18 Transjakarta buses prepared to serve passengers for the first phase. There are only three corridors that will be served, there are corridor I (Blok M-Kota), corridor III (Kalideres-Harmoni), and corridor IX (Pluit-Pinangranti).
According to him, each corridor will prepare six bus units. Two units of them are prepared as bus reserves. "Those three corridors are chosen because it considered as corridor with the most passengers," he said, Friday (5/30).
June 4, 2 Transjakarta Bus Stops Shut DownThe trial will be evaluated to be conducted to other corridors. While for Transjakarta bus drivers, there will be no additional wages since it only manages their working shift, morning and night shift.
"There is no ticket price change," he added.
Head Jakarta Transportation Department, Muhammad Akbar added, he plans for all Tranjakarta corridors to be 24 hours operated. The bus which used as Amari transportation is the old Transjakarta buses, released in 2003 or 2004. Those buses are already reconditioned and repaired.
