The DPT numbers increased by 200 thousand people from the last legislative elections on April 9.

Chairman of City KPU, Sumarno, said that his party along with the Population and Civil Registration Department have been updating the voters' data towards DPT used in the legislative election. Because the DPT on Pileg will automatically be recorded as temporary voter list (DPS) of Presidential Election. "After updating the data, there is data additional and repair. The amount DPT in Jakarta increased by about 200 thousand voters," said Sumarno, when contacted on Saturday (5/31).

The previous legislative election DPT on April 9 is 7,001,520 voters with the number of 17,045 polling stations. The data verification is by re-checking residents who are 17 years old on April 9 to July 9.

"Legislative election DPT is 7 million, so if it is added 200 thousand it becomes about 7,2 million voters," Sumarno said.

In addition, continued Sumarno, it is also possible within this time there are a number of names that are no longer exist in their places, or changing status to military or police. Therefore, there is possible additional military or police retiree, or who have recently moved into an area that has not been registered in the legislative election DPT. "The update process is performed by PPS in village and urban village level," he said.

As for overseas voter list, KPU is seeking citizens in foreign countries in order not only to include passports for DPT, but also NIK. "So later with NIK to check whether the persons have registered in Jakarta or not since the number of citizens in Jakarta continues to change," Sumarno uttered.

Before becoming DPT, KPU set Temporary Voter List Repair Results (DPSHP). In determining the DPT for the presidential election, KPU also invites relevant stakeholders, such as Jakarta Bawaslu and also each successful presidential and vice presidential candidate team in the city.

As it is known today, Saturday (5/31), KPU scheduled presidential and vice presidential candidate. Then on Sunday (6/1), two couples candidates will do the draw.
