Chicken Slaughterhouse Business Unsettling Residents

According him, it is not just the fowl that is secured, but also the dirty and unkempt cages. "There are untreated cages that are so full of shit. There are 16 chicken cages that we destroyed immediately," told Mas’ud.

This control is carried out in accordance with the Bylaw No. 4/2007 on the Control of Maintenance and Distribution of Fowls that should qualify the approval of neighbors, the location of the cage that is at least 25 meter from the left, right, front and back of the settlement. "So it cannot be placed in front of the house. There should be a distance with the settlements," Mas’ud stated.

The South Jakarta Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Sub-Department also appealed residents not to keep fowl in the settlement. If people want to maintain the ornamental birds, it must be certified. "In the certification, there is examination that states the birds are healthy, free of bird flu and other diseases. Birds that are secured will be quarantined and checked their health," Mas’ud completed.
