East Jakarta Job Fair Thronged by Hundreds of Job Seekers

The first day of job fair held by the East Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Sub-Department in Terminal Pulo Gebang, Cakung, Saturday (5/31) was thronged by job seekers. Hundreds of people were seen lining up to enroll in 30 companies' booths.

For the first day until 12 PM it has already surpassed 750 people who signed up, this number will continue to increase

Head of East Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Sub-Deaprtment, Chrisnawati Sulistyaningrum, said the public interest to attend this job fair is quite high, up to 12.00 PM, a total of 750 people have signed up.

"For the first day until 12 PM it has already surpassed 750 people who signed up, this number will continue to increase," she said.

Job Fair Opens in East Jakarta

The residents’ enthusiasm is seen when the booth had not been opened meanwhile many job seekers lined up in front of the booth. "The longest line is in Carrefour, Mandiri bank, and Kia Indonesia car stands," stated Sulistyaningrum.

She told that initially there were only 25 companies that would be participating in the job fair. However, 2 days before the event was held, the company increased by 5 again. "My expectation is the unemployment to get the job immediately. Moreover, for the fresh graduates," she hoped.

Various areas of the company to participate in the job fair such as, manufactures, insurances, franchises, sales services, and so on.

Indah Riswayani (20), one of the visitors who has recently graduated from vocational  school said that she got the information about the event from her school. She hoped that the application she brought matches with the offered position.

"Hopefully I can quickly get a job, especially I’m a fresh grad, hopefully I can get a job and a new experience soon," she hoped.
