56 Stationer Pumps in C. Jakarta Ready to Operate

Around 56 stationer pumps that spread over 15 pump houses are in good condition. That means they are ready to face the peak of rainfall in the forthcoming February.

Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-dept. Head, Dicky Suherlan disclosed that the 56 stationer pumps have suction power around 250, 500 and 1,000 liters per second.

Serdang Connecting Channel Cleaned From Mud

According to him, other two pumps with suction powered 60 liters per second are also in good condition. 

"It relates to the pump condition must be primed. If the damage is detected, it will directly be fixed, plus its maintenance. Because this is very vital," he stated, Monday (1/30).

He went on the say that solar supply for generator is also sufficient, likewise with the operator who is always standby and give the up-to-date progress or condition every hour.

"The damage is due to garbage pile, where it is often stuck in the machine. That's why we continue to monitor and maintain it," told Dicky.

Besides readiness of pump machine, taskforce of Water Resources Sub-dept. in the field also continues to dredge mud in connecting drains that experienced shallowing due to sedimentation.

"All is still on progress. Characteristic of drainage in Central Jakarta such as connecting drain and micro drain is still dominant difficult to be reached with heavy equipment," he finished.
