Cerucuk Artifact Observation in West Jakarta Hampered Because of Weather

Cerucuk which is estimated has age of hundred years was in revitalization project of Krukut River, Jl. Bank, Taman Sari, West Jakarta. Its observation is hampered because of weather. It is estimated there are still another artifacts which located near water gate.

Cerucuk depth is predicted around five to seven meters. Our team hampered by rain and river flow for now, so we are not sure yet about it's depth.

There maybe some another artifacts like brick or stone foundation at cerucuk area," said Candrian Attahiyat, City Cultural Heritage Professional Archaeologist Team, Monday (2/20).

According to him, his team can observe it just in plain view, can not do any archaeological research yet.

"So we are not sure yet what kind of wood and its real function. Temporarily, we predicted it as a water gate," he closed.

There are only five blocks of cerucuk that can be seen. Team still observing whether it is safe to be lifted or not.
