Council to Soon Discuss Four Draft Bylaws

Jakarta Provincial Government has proposed four draft bylaws to Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD). The draft bylaws will soon be discussed along with Jakarta DPRD next week.

Third, draft bylaw on Jakarta Regional Water Company is an amalgamation of the two companies, that are as Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD), Regency-Owned Water Company (PDAM Jaya) and Sewage Company (PD PAL Jaya).
"This combination is more on the efficiency factor, facing global situation that requires competitiveness," he expressed.
It is hoped PDAM Jaya and PD PAL Jaya become Jakarta Regional Water Company that can improve performance. That is by speeding up the coverage of clean water and sewage management that is healthy, efficient, resilient, expanded and have high competence in service and water management.
Lastly, there is draft bylaw on industrial, one of which is a mandate of Law No. 3/2014 on Industry. Local Government was given the duty, authority and responsibility for conducting government affairs in the industry field.
"Considering it's important and strategic, I hope discussion can be held to get council's approval becomes bylaw," he stated.
In the meantime, Jakarta DPRD Chairman, Prasetio Edi Marsudi disclosed has received those proposed draft bylaws.
"According to Bamus' schedule, plenary meeting on the upcoming Friday will tell about common views of fractions," he expressed.
He went on the say that the city has submitted such draft bylaws gradually to the legislative. Especially for draft bylaw on Jakarta Regional Water Company, was proposed on March 31, 2016, followed by draft bylaws on library and archive on September 27, 2016 and industry on February 21, 2017.
"About today's meeting is to hear Acting Governor's explanation toward the draft bylaws that will be discussed soon," he closed.
