Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department is going to repair four damaged pedestrian crossing bridges (JPOs) in its jurisdiction. Located in Senen near Poncol Market, Gambir, Sawah Besar, and Kemayoran, those bridges are rusty, dirty, and not well-maintained, thus disturbing the comfort of passing pedestrians.

We have prepared Rp 200 million to repair four unworthy JPOs. We’ll repair those bridges and paint them ,” stated Head of Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, Syamsudin, Friday (6/6).Meanwhile, Head of Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department Operational Section, Harlem Simanjuntak, urges Central Jakarta residents to contribute in maintaining public facilities together.
“Let us together maintain public facilities, thus JPOs in our city can be well-maintained,” he said.
This JPOs repair is greatly welcomed by the residents. One of them is Rumayati Ningsih (45), a resident of Poncol Market.
“I’m pleased the government intends to repair unworthy JPOs in Central Jakarta. If the bridge was dirty and unworthy, it is not comfortable to be used,” she uttered.
