Kopaja 620 Hit Tree, 6 Passengers Injured

A Kopaja 620 bus (Blok M-Manggarai) with license plate B 7466 DG crashed into a tree in the Gunwarman Park, Jalan Gunawarman, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Monday (6/9), at around 3.30 PM. Due to the incident, as many as 6 bus passengers injured.

"At that time, I was suffering from an ulcer, and had stopped to buy medicine. When arriving on Jalan Gunawarman, I felt headache and street looked dark," said Kopaja driver, Ade Rochman (50), Monday (6/9).

Afi, (54), one of passengers said that driver had stopped to buy medicine. "We stop near Flight Vocational High School (SMKN 29) to buy medicine in a stall. Not so fast, but the driver lost control and then crashed into a tree," he told.

He continued 6 passengers injured in the incident. "I have bruises on my head, and there is a mother whose teeth are broken, a man suffered injuries on the head, and then an oldman suffered a broken arm. The rest only suffered abrasions after being hit by broken glass," he explained.

The victims then rushed to Selong Urban Village Community Health Center. While the bus driver was helped by a foreigner.

Brigadier Gozan, Policeman of South Jakarta Police Traffic Accident Unit, disclosed the driver will be questioned after his condition are recovered. The bus damaged in the front and its window broken. The evacuation process is difficult, because the bus stuck in the iron after firstly hitting park fence and then tree.

Thus, the traffic congestion happens on Jalan Gunawarman, from Blok M towards Blok S.
