E-KIR System Effectively Makes Vehicle Monitoring Easier

Electronic vehicle license (e-KIR) system which has been implemented by Jakarta Transportation Dept. in Ujung Menteng, Pulogadung, and Cilincing vehicle testing since last year is considered effective enough to facilitate vehicle monitoring.

Now it is easy to check KIR (vehicle license) is still valid or not

"Now it is easy to check KIR (vehicle license) whether still valid or not. With just accessing from plat numbers, all information can be seen such as the vehicle type, when it is licensed, valid date, it is all noted," said Andri Yansyah, Head Dept. of Jakarta Transportation (Dishub) at City Hall, Thursday (5/4).

He explained it is noted there are almost 1,500 vehicles takes KIR test in three Vehicle Testing locations every day. In the near future, his side will also open Vehicle Testing in Kedaung Angke which can accommodate 700 vehicles.

City to Build 9 New Rows of KIR Test in Jakarta

According to him, currently the e-KIR system has been connected with Smart City. Thus vehicle monitoring, whether freight cars for people or goods, which KIR validation is not extended yet will be easier to be tracked.
