We give a recommendation letter to repair in accordance with difficulty level. It's maximally one year
Along 2016, South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept. has inspected safety system towards 153 buildings. From that number, 5 out of them have yet to meet safety standards.
"We inspect buildings that have eight floors. Five buildings are found far from safety standard," expressed Irwan, Head of South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept., Friday (5/5).
Fire Simulation Held at Shopping CenterAccording to him, those five buildings do not have emergency lighting. Even the emergency communication is not ready because of malfunctioned alarm control panel and emergency stairs is only detected on one side and not completed by fire stop.
Aside that, the standpipe, fire hose and hydrant systems are not ready because of leaks in the piping network. That is why the entire fire pump is off, and it is also worsened by unoptimal auto sprinkler system and smoke suppressing fan.
"We give a recommendation letter to repair in accordance with difficulty level. It's maximally one year," he stated.
He explains if the repair is done according to the letter, the technical recommendation will be given and then brought to PTSP. Afterwards, they would get a fire safety certificate.
If it is not responded, his party will conduct a building labeling that says building does not have a safety system.
"We can't give sanction to them, but only recommendation and direction for safety," he uttered.
