E. Jakarta's Joint Personnel Cleaned Cakung Drain Canal

300 joint personnel from urban village, sub-district, Water Resources Sub-dept., Environment Sub-dept., Bina Marga Sub-dept., East Jakarta Satpol PP, and local residents held communal work in residential at RT 16/04 of Kampung Petukangan, Rawa Terate Urban Village, Cakung, East Jakarta.

We hope this communal work could be done continuously

East Jakarta Mayor, Bambang Musyawardana said, this routine activity is held once a week in different locations. The purpose is to raise public awareness about the importance of maintaining environment clean and healthy thus can avoid any disease. 

"Communal work like this has been routinely held once a week. This is used to provoke their awareness in maintaining environment cleanliness," he said on Sunday (5/7).

Communal work in Kampung Petukangan is focused narrowed Cakung Drain Canal due to sedimentation. Then repairing water gates which can not work normally. If heavy rain happened when the water gate is still broken, water could overflow and inundate residential for about one meter height.

Thus, he asked Water Resources Sub-dept. to dredge the mud sedimentation using heavy equipment and repair the broken water gate so it can be functioned normally.

Rawa Ternate's RW 04 Head, Zulkarnaen thanked to all city administrative who helping directly by hold a communal work.

"We hope this communal work could be done continuously. Especially mud dredging work ," he closed.
