For about 200 joint personnel cleaned Kampung Melayu Terminal area, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, Monday (5/29). Cleaning was focused on areas around bomb blast, such as public toilet and Transjakarta bus stop areas.

This cleaning is done to re-sterilize terminal area

All parts affected by explosion were cleaned. All bus stop parts, road, toilet are sprayed using fire truck. Then, it was brushed and re-sprayed by carbolic using a tanker and rinsed.

Then the bus stop is wiped until clean. While the road surface is sucked up with vacuum cleaner car owned by East Jakarta Environment Sub-dept.

Jatinegara Sub-district Head, Nasrudin Abu Bakar said, cleaning is done to follow up Acting Jakarta Governor's instruction on Sunday (5/28).

"This cleaning is done to re-sterilize terminal area. Especially Transjakarta bus stop and toilet. All parts are sprayed, doused with carbolic, and re-rinsed until clean," he said.

Hopefully, terminal area can be cleaned as before and Transjakarta bus stop can be operated again. People who will use bus stop are hoped can also feel safe and comfortable. According to plan, bus stop will be operated again this afternoon.

Cleaning work is involving personnel from urban village, sub-district, Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept., Health Sub-dept., Environment Sub-dept., Transportation Sub-dept., PT. Transjakarta, management of Kampung Melayu Terminal, and PPSU personnel.
