Flooding hit a citizen residential in Kampung Pulo, Kempung Melayu, Jatinegara, and Cipinang Melayu, Makasar, East Jakarta, after heavy rain fell in the capital and its surrounding areas, Thursday (6/12) night. The water level in Kampung Pulo reaches 2 meters and 60 centimeters in Cipinang Melayu.
Thus far, the locals opted to stay in their houses and are still doing activities as usual
Around 1,800 houses located at 7 RWs in Kampung Melayu inundated and there has been no evacuation until Friday (6/13) morning.
The flood began to hit Kampung Pulo in Thursday night, around 9 PM, causing water in Ciliwung River overflowed. The condition is worsened by heavy rain in Bogor, West Java. The flood peak happens around 3-4 AM.
Flood Hits Houses in Kampung PuloSolihin, (40), a citizen of RT 03/03 Kampung Pulo stated since Thursday afternoon, urban village apparatus has warned the citizens about flood water from Bogor. "Urban Village through RT/RW apparatus has told us that flood would hit the residential. That's why we immediately evacuate our valuables to the attic of the house," he expressed.
Until 8 AM, water level still reached 2 meters and has not subsided. Even so, citizens opted to stay in their houses.
Kampung Melayu Urban Village Head, Bambang Pangestu said flood has been soaking 1,800 houses at 7 RWs and 53 RTs in Kampung Pulo. The amount of flood victims is reaching 7,543 people or 2,775 households.
"Thus far, the locals opted to stay in their houses and are still doing activities as usual," he expressed.
According to Pangestu, the flood in Kampung Pulo is caused by heavy rain last night in Jakarta, Depok, until Bogor. Thus it caused overflowing Ciliwung River.
While in Cipinang Melayu, water in Sunter River overflowed at 1 AM and its water level reaches 60 centimeters. As many as 2 RWs are inundated, namely RW 03 and 04.
"Locals have yet to take refuge. If the evacuation is needed, we will quickly provide refugee camps at RW Post and Al-Muqorobin Mosque," expressed Chairman of RW 03 Cipinang Melayu, Muchtar Usman.
In RW 03, flood hit around 60 houses at RW 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, with water level reaches 50-60 centimeters. Then in RW 04, flood has inundated 100 houses at RT 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 07, and 08, with water level reaches 50 centimeters.
