City Secretary, Saefullah said the entire development of the sidewalks in the capital should be equipped with ducting. It is to avoid the damaging effects of cable excavation projects.

"Sidewalk development using ducting must be one package," he expressed, at City Hall, Thursday (7/27).

He disclosed, if it is completed with ducting, utility arrangement will be better and not damage the sidewalk.

"Ducting is placed below the sidewalk. It is used to keep all utilities such as cable, PAM, fiber optic, water, gas, and electricity," he stated.

He furthered the utility owner must be obliged to pay the rent money to Jakarta Provincial Government if they want to use ducting to be more orderly administration.

"It will be the property of the city. Who has the cable there must rent," he closed.
