Jakarta Transportation Dept. is still evaluating traffic at Semanggi Interchange after open traffic trial on July 28, 2017.
Based on temporary evaluation results, addition of traffic signs is required at the flyover that has the longest arch in Indonesia.
Today, Open Traffic at Semanggi Interchange AppliedJakarta Transportation Dept. Head, Andri Yansyah said, his dept. has coordinated with Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate related with traffic evaluation in Semanggi area. From evaluation results in the field, there are some traffic signs required to be installed to guide the motorist.
"Yesterday Traffic Directorate also gave suggestions about this matter. I requested them to make a proposal thus could be submitted to Bina Marga Dept.," he expressed, Wednesday (8/2).
Due to lack of traffic signs, many motorists hesitate when they want to go to Semanggi Interchange.
"We had applied open-close system yesterday, as most people took wrong way. The point is traffic signs must be added," he stressed.
He explained addition of traffic signs is still the authority of the contractor.
"Except other traffic signs outside Semanggi Interchange, it's our authority," he closed.
