Indeed, MEIS does not have permit since it was established two years ago,” stated Basuki at City Hall, Wednesday (6/18).

However, Basuki disclosed that Jakarta Provincial Government will not demolish the building which has been used numerous times for world musician concerts.

“I do not want to demolish buildings. There are many building in Jakarta that do not have permit. For those whose permit troubled, we ordered them to fix it. And those who have not had permit, process it immediately,” he asserted.

According to Basuki, almost half of buildings in Jakarta do not have permit.

“Would you burn half Jakarta because those buildings do not have permit?” he asked.

Earlier, Head of Jakarta Satpol PP, Kukuh Hadi Santosa, told that last week his party issued warning letters to building owners.

“Yes, we’ve given them warning letters to immediately process their business place permit based on Nuisance Act (UUG). If they haven’t processed it, we ask them to immediately do it,” he said.
