Monas Jakarta Fair Organizer Overwhelmed Handling Illegal Cadgers

Monas Jakarta Fair organizer complained on the rampant of unofficial cadgers selling in the area. This condition makes the visitors inconvenience to shop and enjoy the fair.

I do not know to whom they ask for permission. We’re still evaluating this matter. Hopefully the event run smooth until the end

Chief of Monas Jakarta Fair organizer, M Haris Pindratno, admitted about the shortages in the implementation of Monas Jakarta Fair which opened on Tuesday (6/10). The brief event’s preparation makes the event implementation seems to be not optimal.

One of those shortages is the rampant existence of illegal cadgers who enter Monas area forcibly. As a result, illegal cadgers become mixed with 2,780 legal traders who have been selected previously. Legal traders are accommodated with white tents, while illegal cadgers are selling in parks and sidewalks.

Monas Jakarta Fair, Transjakarta Bus Plying Corridor II Diverted

“I do not know to whom they ask for permission. We’re still evaluating this matter. Hopefully the event run smooth until the end,” he said, Wednesday (6/11).

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, the rampant existence of unofficial cadgers selling on parks and sidewalks is making the visitors difficult to reach the main event venue. Besides that, illegal parking also becomes an exceptional note since the parking lots in IRTI Monas cannot accommodate the vehicles that continue to arrive. As a result, many cars, tourism buses, and motorcycles are parked outside Monas area, on the sidewalks, even until on TransJakarta bus lanes.
