The green building concept initiated by Jakarta Provincial Government gets appreciation from other countries in the world.
A number of countries like Vietnam also want to learn the concept in Jakarta
City Deputy for Spatial Planning and Environment, Oswar Muadzin Mungkasa expressed, Jakarta is in the spotlight from other countries, as it is deemed to be one of the world's cities that consistently apply green building concept.
"I just came home as a speaker of The International Green Building Conference (IGBC) in Singapore that attended by 1,000 representatives from various countries. Jakarta is deemed the most advanced in Indonesia, and we want to be the Center of Excellence for the green building," he stated, Monday (9/18).
Daan Mogot Flat Built with Green Building ConceptAccording to him, participants appreciated the breakthrough and seriousness shown by Jakarta Provincial Government through the issuance of Governor Regulation No. 38/2012 on Green Building and the Grand Design Green Building.
"Jakarta has a clear roadmap, vision, mission and target, realizing its commitment 30:30, which is reducing electricity, water and CO2 emission from every building in Jakarta up to 30 percent by 2030. This makes other countries awe," he said.
He added Jakarta is also deemed to be advancing in a collaborative approach to produce a grand design through cooperation with other parties outside the government.
"We're working with Green Building Consume Indonesia (GBCI), Green Product Council Indonesia, developers, experts from all universities. Even, the meeting related to green building is conducted every month," he expressed.
He explained, a number of international organizations such as the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Singapore are willing to support Jakarta in implementing green building concept.
"A number of countries like Vietnam also want to learn the concept in Jakarta," he disclosed.
