Governor wants Batik Training to Be Intensified

Coinciding with National Batik Day, Jakarta Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat requested that batik training continues to be intensified, especially in flats.

I am sure with the regeneration, our batik will be better

According to him, the skill of Indonesian people in the art of batik is unquestionable. Hence, regeneration of batik crafters is very required for introducing batik to the whole world.

"I am sure with the regeneration, our batik will be better," he stated, Monday (1/2).

Batik Painting Competition will Be Held at Textile Museum

He explained Jakarta Regional National Craft Council (Dekranasda) has officially launched the Batik Lenggang Jakarta book, Thursday (9/28) ago. The book contains works of batik produced by coaching residents from four flat towers under Dekranasda.

"Our effort is to preserve batik. We train the flat residents to develop batik," he closed.
