Basuki: BPK's Audit Amazing, It's Delightful

BPK’s audit is amazing. The things which undiscovered and not examined before are now discovered

Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama appreciated the audit result of Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) which discovered 86 cheating indications in the 2013 City Budget (APBD) with total loss reaching Rp 1.54 trillion.

BPK Reports City Losses Rp 1.54 Trillion

For that, Basuki thanked BPK. He assessed that BPK’s performance this year is better than previous year because the examination this year is more thorough. As a matter of fact, BPK even examined until the governor regulations.

BPK’s audit is amazing. The things which undiscovered and not examined before are now discovered. I am happy BPK did that. I hope BPK to be more thorough, so things would get cleaner,” stated Basuki at City Hall, Tuesday (6/23).

According to Basuki, if BPK did the audit more detail as done by Jakarta Provincial Government, they would find civil servants (PNS) who were trying to cheat on budget use.

“If other regions got WTP (unqualified opinion) which audit less detail as in Jakarta, the one should be asked is the BPK itself, why don’t be detailed? This is a good start. That’s why I am happy Jakarta becomes the role model to all (regions in) Indonesia,” he uttered.

As reported before, BPK’s audit found that in the 2013 APBD there were indications of loss as much as Rp 85.36 billion, loss potential Rp 1.33 trillion, regional income deficit Rp 95.01 billion, and 3Es finding (inefficient, uneconomic, and ineffective) worth Rp 23.13 billion.
