Waste Bank at West Jakarta Mayor Office Inaugurated

West Jakarta Mayor, Anas Effendi, Friday (10/20), has inaugurated the Wiajayakusuma Waste Bank around the mayor building, Jalan Raya Kembangan No. 2.

Not only the mayor's employees, but the people around can also sell the waste that has been sorted into the waste bank

In his speech, he said, there will be no more waste, as everything has been sorted and taken to the waste bank.

"I want all unit heads to sort first waste to be taken to the Wijayakusuma Waste Bank," he stated.

He continued the waste bank is the 147th waste bank in West Jakarta. It is open to the public.

"Not only the mayor's employees, but the people around can also sell the waste that has been sorted into the waste bank," he told.

Anas is optimistic its existence would reduce waste disposal to Bantergebang.

"We'll continue to add more waste banks in residential areas, government offices thus waste disposal to Bantargebang landfill is reduced," he told.

He also asks West Jakarta Environment Sub-dept. to allocate the provision of the waste sorting place thus people can dispose waste in accordance with its type.

"I also ask for public places such as malls to provide the waste sorting place," he pleaded.

To regional, RW and RT heads, he instructs them to conduct socialization to the people to conduct waste sorting in their house.

"If it is done from the lowest level, the waste in Bantargebang will be reduced drastically," he closed.
