Anies Wants Jakarta to Become a City of Art and Culture

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan wants the capital to become a city of art and culture.

"We want Jakarta to be a city of art and culture by giving space of expression. Today marks the Monas as a place for people to do any art activities," he expressed, when he attended the Kirab Kebangsaan, Sunday (11/26).

According to him, Kirab Kebangsaan will be a routine agenda. Considering it will be followed by various elements of people and cultures.

"This is also held in commemoration of the Heroes Day," he told.

It is enlivened various activities such as Heroes Parade, Marching Band, Cultural Art Parade, Ondel-ondel Parade, and Public Community.

Eventually, he continued, the participants of the event are students, firemen, army members, police officers and people from various elements.

In the event, there will be Betawi Mass Dance followed by 12,000 people.

"As we know this is one of the most colossal dance," he exclaimed.

In the other hand, he also wants to re-function Monas as a city square. A variety of art and cultural attractions will be expected to be held in the place.

"There will be art attraction every morning, noon until afternoon," he closed.
