The home makeover program done by Central Jakarta Administration to the house of Ahmad Ashari (65) is finally finished. The house, which located at RT 09/02, Kartini Urban Village, Sawah Besar Sub-District, was previously devastating with only tarpaulin roof and some of its walls sticking to neighbor house’s walls. After the makeover, the house is now two-story and sturdy.

“Hopefully this home makeover could bring benefit to its owner as well as local residents. I ask Mr. Ahmad to take good care of this house,” stated Central Jakarta Mayor, Saefullah, when symbolically hands out the house key to the house owner in the location, Wednesday (7/2).

According to Head of Central Jakarta BAZIS, Nurzen, who accompanied Saefullah, this home makeover program was carried out for 20 days starting early June and spent Rp 40 million. On the land as wide as 24 meters, the house now has two bedrooms and a bathroom.

“Alhamdulillah (thank God), the (home makeover) work can finish on time, for 20 working days,” he expressed.

Ahmad Ashari, the house owner, is deeply grateful for the aid given by the government.

“Once again, I thank you very much for the help,” he said.

Meanwhile, a local named Asiang (45) is also grateful with this home makeover program because the pathway in the neighborhood is now asphalted.

“The road was never been asphalted from long ago. That’s why we thank you for this home makeover,” he uttered.
