Cassava Planted on KBT Riverbank in Marunda

To prevent wild grass, the cassava plant begins to be planted on a 700-square-meter dry trace of East Flood Canal (KBT) in Marunda area, Cilincing, North Jakarta.

"We're planting cassava plant on the KBT dry trace in Marunda area. It aims to prevent wild grass," expressed Lambas Sigalingging, Unit Head of North Jakarta Water Agency's Technical Management Unit, Thursday (12/28).

Wild Grass Along Road of Pesanggrahan River Cleaned

According to him, there were previously people using the KBT riverbank to grow productive crops. But the cleanliness is not maintained, thus the garbage is scattered.

"Cassava planting is very effective to prevent wild grass," he stated.
