LH Dept. Transport 700 Tons of Ciliwung Trash

Around 700 tons of trash were taken from Ciliwung River on Monday (2/5) night by Jakarta Environment (LH) Dept. and transported using 100 vehicles. Especially below KH Abdulah Syafe'i Bridge, Tebet, South Jakarta, 220 tons of trash were transported from that location.

Based on Beritajakarta monitoring, most trashes consisted of wood, bamboo, tree trunk, plastic, styrofoam, household appliances such as mattress and chair.
Jakarta LH Dept. Head, Isnawa Adji informed, all personnel from department and sub-dept.'s levels were deployed to transport trash in several locations thus water flow will be not hampered.

Especially we deploy 40 different types of truck, two units of spider truck and one long arm excavator to stand by from 5 PM in Kampung Melayu," he informed on Jalan KH Abdulah Syafe'i, Tuesday (2/6) dawn.
He explained, transported trash will be taken to Bantar Gebang. His side has prepared zone for temporary dumpsite in Bantar Gebang to accommodate trash from Ciliwung River for trash transport process acceleration.
"There is a special spot in Bantar Gebang for this trash so we don't need to queue. We have split our tasks and ready to implement it," he said.
Meanwhile, Jakarta LH Dept. Deputy Head, Ali Maulana Hakim stated, his side will transport Ciliwung River trash non-stop until it is cleared.
"Our problem is the cable and traffic jam, but three sides also helped us.
We will keep transport another spot of trashes ," he affirmed.
