North Jakarta Administration is looking to make a crossing of water channel from the inspection road towards Cakung Drain River as a solution to handle inundation in residential area, RW 05 Rorotan Urban Village, Cilincing.

All this time, six RTs in RW 05 Rorotan Urban Village are often inundated as high as one meter when heavy rain pours.

North Jakarta Mayor, Husein Murad said, the contour of some areas in RW 05 is in the basin area. As result, water cannot flow out into several macro channels when rain pours. "The solution must be crossing that flow water into Cakung Drain. Crossing on inspection road to Cakung Drain," he expressed, Tuesday (2/6). 

He admitted crossing making would take a long time and must go through technical studies first. Moreover, the flow of crossing also passes some lands of companies so it needs to be done synergy.

"We'll coordinate with Water Resources Sub-dept. It will also involve private party to get solution," he asserted.

LMK Rorotan Chairperson, Khaerudin added, inundation has been ongoing since three days ago. It can be seen in RT 01, 02, 03, 05, 06 and 12/RW 05 Rorotan.

"The peak of inundation reached more than one meter. Herein, this disaster affected 500 households," he told.
