Urban Farming Crops will Be Distributed to Supermarket

Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) Dept. targets to distribute crops to supermarkets in Jakarta. Those crops are planted by residents through urban farming program.

"Soon, we will cooperate with supermarket to distribute crops from urban farming," stated Darjamuni, Head of Jakarta KPKP Dept., Wednesday (2/21).

City Must Utilize Unused Agricultural Land for Urban Farming

According to him, firstly his side will open cooperation opportunities with online shops. He considers crops from urban farming are still not stable to be distributed to supermarkets.

"Through online shopping, we are not attached to farm A or B. But if crops from farm C is ready then we can immediately harvest and deliver it,' he explained.

In order to open cooperation opportunities, his continued, his side will involve residents to enhance the number of commodities and its quality.
