Silaturahmi Not Only Realized in Ramadan, but Also in Daily Life, Basuki Says

Acting Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama once again did a Safari Ramadan 2014. This time, he visited the Darul Muttaqin Mosque at Jalan Malaka Hijau Raya, Pondok Kopi, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, Friday (7/11).

Basuki, who arrived at 4.30 PM immediately greeted by the mosque pilgrims. The activity was also attended by East Jakarta Mayor HR Krisdianto, Head of Duren Sawit Sub-District Abu Bakar, and Head of Pondok Kopi Urban Village P Ritonga. 

On that occasion, he advised local officials to continue conducting friendly meeting or locally called as silaturahmi with citizens in order to create good communication. "I hope silahturahmi is not only conducted in the holy of Ramadan, but in other months," he hoped, Friday (7/11).

Basuki to Conduct Safari Ramadan

He added that he is very grateful because citizens welcome him kindly as long as he conducts Safari Ramadan 2014. "The religious advice (tausyiah) here explains that all cannot be run well without the prayers of the people. Prayer can be more potent than the people who lead the prayer. This is a blessing for me" he exclaimed.

After conducting the Safari Ramadan 2014, he then did impromptu visits (blusukan) to the East Flood Canal (KBT) area, Friday (7/11) night.

The former regent of East Belitung stopped right at the KBT bridge, in front of Cipinang Elok Residential Complex, East Jakarta. He then got out of his official car and approached the street vendors in such area.

To the vendors, he allows them to sell as long as they do not make traffic congestion. "I allow you (vendors) develop business here as long as you do not make congestion," he stated.

He furthered Jakarta Provincial Government will provide capital for vendors. He also asked them not to trust the thugs or mass organizations who want to ask for a levy.

"If you want to trade here, your data would be recorded by East Jakarta Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises and Trade (KUMKMP) Sub-Department. Besides that, you have to make DKI Bank account. If you reject it, I will revoke trader permit," he asserted.

The vendors positively welcome Basuki's direction. A number of citizens also scrambled to shake hands with him.
