In this fasting month of Ramadan 1435 Hijri, Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama will meet and greet the citizens by visiting mosques starting tomorrow, Wednesday (7/2). The first mosque to be visited in this is activity of Safari Ramadan is At-Taqwa Mosque at Kapuk Muara Urban Village, Penjaringan Sub-District, North Jakarta.
“Insya Allah (with God’s permission), the activity will be started tomorrow in Kapuk Muara. But because of his busyness, Mr. Basuki will only visit 10 locations. Other areas will be represented by existing officials,” stated Head of Jakarta Education and Mental Spiritual Bureau, Budi Utomo, at City Hall, Tuesday (7/1).
Istiqlal Mosque Provides 3,000 Packaged Rice Meals Every Day to Break the FastBesides Kapuk Muara, Basuki is scheduled to conduct Safari Ramadan and gather with pilgrims at Jami Nurul Yaqin Mosque (Gandaria Utara Urban Village) on July 7, Sunda Kelapa Mosque (Menteng Urban Village) on July 10, Darul Muttaqin Mosque (Pondok Kopi Urban Village) on July 11, Jakarta Islamic Center (Tugu Utara Urban Village) on July 14, An-Nizhom Mosque (Cempaka Putih Urban Village) on July 16, and Al-Ikhsan Mosque (Untung Jawa Island, Seribu Islands Regency) on July 18.
In addition, Basuki will also attend break fasting activity held by regional working units (SKPD) in five municipalities for five times each municipality.
“So, there are a total of 15 events. But, it is tentative since Mr. Acting Governor is busy handling the capital city. He already knows all of the schedules,” uttered Utomo.
According to him, Basuki refused to be accompanied by echelon II officials in his Safari Ramadan activity. This is because Basuki gives them chance to break the fast with their family.
“Mr. Basuki does not want to be accompanied by echelon II officials. But if the mayors want to accompany him, they are allowed to do so,” told Utomo.
Later, the mosques visited by Basuki will be getting donation in the amount of Rp 10 million to Rp 15 million.
