Police to Escort Biker Homecomers Until Karawang

Even though urging homecomers not to go homecoming using motorcycles, City Police Traffic Directorate still do anticipation efforts. One of the ways done is by escorting big groups of biker homecomers until Karawang, West Java, in relay with related regional police.

We will escort biker homecomers until outside City Police jurisdiction. The escort will be mainly done in the morning

“We will escort biker homecomers until outside City Police jurisdiction. The escort will be mainly done in the morning,” stated City Police Traffic Directorate Security and Safety Sub-Directorate Chief, AKBP Irvan Prawirayuda, Saturday (7/19).

According to Prawirayuda, his party has learned the pattern of homecomers going on motorcycles who tend to depart in the morning.

43 Health Posts Provided to Face Homecoming Season

“Last year, they ate sahoor (pre-dawn meals before fasting) and conducted Subuh prayer first, then left. So, the peak time of crowds going outside Jakarta was different,” he told.

For this year, biker homecomers are estimated to pass in Kalimalang area at 5 AM, 30 minutes later around Borobudur University area, and by 6.30 AM already enter Bekasi City.

“So, at 8 AM they have passed Bekasi Timur and enter Karawang. And around 9 AM, they are entering Cirebon,” he uttered.

The amount of biker homecomers is predicted to increase for seven percent. Thus, extra security is needed to prevent crime and accident rates. Therefore, City Police have set up posts at two main points bordering with West Java Police and Tangerang Resort Police.

“There are posts in Cikupa Tangerang and Bekasi Waringin building. There, we put policemen on guard and provide resting place as well as healthcare post equipped with doctors, midwives, and nurses,” informed Prawirayuda.
