Tens of households living on Jalan Setia Kawan, RT 07 and 08/RW 12, Duri Pulo Urban Village, Gambir, Central Jakarta have lost their homes after being hit by fire on Thursday (5/24) early morning. Tent refuge was set up to house the victims.

Gambir Sub-district Head, Fauzi noted fire has destroyed about 31 homes last night. Temporarily, the number of victims that have been recorded is 25 households with 191 people.

"Tent refuge has been set up on Jalan Setia Kawan. We also have distribute logistic, such as food, blanket and medicine," he expressed.

His side is currently still recording school equipment supplies and resident documents, as well as other burning documents.

"Thus it can be handled quickly by the Executing Unit in sub-district," he expressed.

Syaiful Khafi, Picket Officer of Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-dept. said temporary allegation it is due to electricity short-circuit from a home. The firefighters could manage the situation at 2 AM.

“We sent 18 fire trucks to put out the flames at the scene,” he said..
